Music Ministry at First Baptist Church

 
The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church engages individuals in worship, discipleship, outreach and missions through music.
 
The Scriptures compel us . . .
to "sing praises to God" and to share together the "psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs" of the church. Through music, we unite our spirits and our minds in acts of worship, celebration, thanksgiving, confession, witness, and proclamation. Whether as a member of one of the choirs or instrumental ensembles, or as a part of the congregation, we are all called to "make a joyful sound to the Lord."
 
Our worshiping congregation is our largest and most important "choir." As we join our hearts and voices in worship each Sunday, we embody the unity of spirit and purpose to which Christ has called us. There are no auditions or forms. To join the congregational "choir," all you have to do is sing, whether by voice or sign language!

  • Music Groups for Preschoolers and Children - 4 years through 5th Grade
    Wednesdays, 5:40-6:25 PM (followed by Mission Friends, GA's and RA's - 6:30-7:15 PM).
    Children's Handchimes at 4:30 on Wednesdays!
  • Chapel Choir  - Youth in Grades 6-12
    Sundays, 5-5:45 PM. 
  • Jubilate - Youth in Grades 7-12 (contemporary worship music ensemble and band)
    A select group. See Dr. Andy Roby for info on how to join this group.
    Sundays, 4:00-4:55 PM
  • Sanctuary Choir - Adults
    Rehearsals on Wednesdays at 7:15 PM
  • FBC Orchestra - Instrumental group for
    adults and youth who are in 8th grade or
    have 2+ years in band, orchestra, or private lessons
    Rehearsals TBA.
  • Handbell Choirs
    Children's Handchimes on Wednesdays at 4:30 PM
    Youth 1 (less experienced) on Wednesdays at 4:15 PM
    Youth 2 (more experienced) on Sundays at 7:15 PM
    Adults on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM
  • First Worship Band and Vocal Ensemble
    A select music group that leads and presents music in First Worship
    Rehearsals on Sundays at 3:00 PM
